The powerful messages we send

The 60's sexual revolution freed women and men from the Victorian ideal that sex was something inherently evil or taboo. The positive message is it is OK to admit sex brings good feelings and is pleasurable.

Sex sells is the marketing plan for the too lazy, instead of extolling, the merits of the person, idea, or product on their own. The seductive woman on the car hood elicits a positive response from men and women.

Obviously for men who are not dead the message is,
This beautiful woman comes with the car.
For women it is,
I could rock this dress and rule the world.

In this time of oversharing like the Kardashians, every detail of life is packaged and marketed on the internet. We ask what is our brand? What do we want to be known for? Do we rip off all the layers of protection or do we keep a little in the tank to maintain our sanity and sense of worth? If you give it all what do you have left to give to the special people in your life?

We attract the customers we market to. We have to accept the responsibility and the power of the message we send. Whether it is how we dress, what we say, or how we act. True, we sometimes attract unwanted attention that was not our intention or our doing. All the more reason, "To our own selves be true."
