Political Battles or Spiritual Awakenings and Oliver Wendell Homes, Sr.

I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving: To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it - but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

For Christians the destination is Heaven. Some say the country has lost its Moral compass. The hearts and minds of people are not won or lost in a Supreme Court ruling. They are won by relationships with people; loving, comforting and caring for them as individuals. But, most importantly encouraging people into their own one-on-one relationship with Jesus. Not everyone's course is the same, the obstacles we encounter are different but the finish line for the Christian is the port of Heaven.

Are we waging a political battle when we need is a Spiritual Awaking. It is disturbing how abused the Bible is, it is framed to meet the purposes of whatever camp cherry-picks a verse. I am not going to say this side is right and this side is wrong. I only will encourage you to pick up the Bible, the moral compass for the Christian faith. Read it for yourself and have a Spiritual Awakening. Whether it is your first time or an old grumpy scholar ask for Jesus to set your own course in your own way to the port of heaven.
