Open Our Eyes Wide to Little Sins and Big Sins.

One common misconception is 'all sin the same.' True all sin is the same in that it separates us from God. However, it is vital to make the distinction between sin that does not death and sin that does.

16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. 1 John 5:16-18 KJV
What are the sins that lead to death? Many will be surprised by the "little sins" that lead to death.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Roman 1:24-32 KJV

People are heading toward their deaths. We all die but the second death is the eternal judgment. Like Balaam on his donkey, people are heading down the wrong path and don't see the calamity that awaits them.

Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown. Num 22:31 NIV

Has My Family Been Cursed?

What is Generational Curse?

For those concerned with a generational curse. Exodus is the basis for a generational curse on the 3rd and 4th generations. It is speaking to the worship of idols.

Exodus 20:5
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Enough

God had enough of Israel's repeatedly breaking His covenant so they were dispersed by war and taken away as captives. They called to Him in their captivity and He came and gathered them together as His people.

Jeremiah 31:29-34
29 “In those days people will no longer say, ‘The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’
30 Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes—their own teeth will be set on edge.
31 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, ” declares the LORD.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

Deuteronomy 24:16
16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.

Ezekiel 18:19-20
19 “Yet you ask, ‘Why does the son not share the guilt of his father?’ Since the son has done what is just and right and has been careful to keep all my decrees, he will surely live.
20 The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.

Jesus Intervenes

1 John 5:18 ESV
We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

Acts 16:31 ESV
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Mark 16:16 ESV
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Don't let anything hinder you.

Like you have been forgiven, forgive.

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Mark 11:25 ESV
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

People are Wrong Sometimes

What some people think is a generational curse may not be a curse.

John 9:1-3
1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

Remember this:

Romans 8:1 ESV
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

God has Claimed You

Generational curses have no claim to the life of a Christian. On the contrary, those without Christ are subject to generational curses from the fallen state of man. If this is you. Repeating the pattern of your ancestors over and over again.

Breaking the Bonds of the Past

For those that want to be saved, I pray to proclaim the blood of Jesus to bind the strongholds and generational curses holding you back. Releasing you and your family to live under the covering of the blood of Jesus, and release the power of God over all dominion to break the curse and bonds. It is not complicated. It easy as ABC. 1. Admit you have sinned. Everyone has. It is no secret. 2. Believe, Jesus is your Savior. Because when you are drowning you can't save yourself. 3. Confess that Jesus is the Lord of your life. There is a new sheriff in town and it is not you. Find a good church in your town, get baptized, and grow in faith.

From this day forward we all live in the newness of Life with Christ Jesus our Lord. No power or dominion lays claim. The bonds that bound our ancestors, you, me, our children, grandchildren, and so on and so on. This is a new day.

If you read all the way to the end. Blessings to you and your family for all generations.

Imperfect is perfect.

God uses imperfect vessels as His witnesses. People are not perfect. They have doubts, lie, cheat, steal, gossip, covet, murder and that is just some of what God's best people. He calls them Prophets, Apostles, Kings, and His Children. So why would God chose such losers to represent Him? Simply God knows His audience. Doubters, Liers, Cheater...Sinners. Who else could identify with the He wants to speak to. 'I am sure he would get better results if he sent better witnesses.' Really, God sent the most perfect witness and we beat Him, insulted Him, blamed Him, convicted Him, tortured Him, and drove a nail through His hand. If that was not enough we killed and just to make sure He was dead put a spear through His side. Jesus was the man. Not only a man but His best, His Son. We had the best. Realizing none of us where there torturing and killing Jesus. But we all know we ourselves are not perfect, We've done wrong, We are guilty of things we don't want to discuss. Jesus came not only as a witness of God's love to you but, a friend to be with you. So don't let the imperfect witness of people keep you from something really special.

Good Fruit and False Prophets

It is hard enough to know if someone is telling the truth. So what should you do if someone says they are a prophet and they have the word of the Lord for you.
The first thing to do is try or test.
1 John 4
4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Know the source.
Luke 6
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
False prophets deceive so many people it is just not right. How can you spot a fraud? What will happen to false prophets?
2 Peter 2
2 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Are there really true prophets that hear from God?
Ephesians 4
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
What is the Law of the Prophets
Matthew 7
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Just Ask!

This being the Christmas Season, the "Season of Giving." If you are unclear on who started it. It is our Father God. We live on continuing a tradition remembering His beautiful gift. We honor him with our gifts.

We all have received gifts from well-meaning family, friends or fellow workers. Then the things we need vs the things we want. Should we be afraid of being like a kid and write a list of what we really want or asking for too much?

We can not ask for too much. Our Father has infinite resources.
We should not be afraid to ask.
Is there some fine print? God may give you anything you ask for but, the real gift maybe wisdom.
Our Father God like most earthly fathers desires to give good gifts to His children.
So what is the secret? Much like at any good hotel the staff says, "If you need anything, just ask!"

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:19
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:23–24
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:5–6
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1 John 3:22
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:14–15

The powerful messages we send

The 60's sexual revolution freed women and men from the Victorian ideal that sex was something inherently evil or taboo. The positive message is it is OK to admit sex brings good feelings and is pleasurable.

Sex sells is the marketing plan for the too lazy, instead of extolling, the merits of the person, idea, or product on their own. The seductive woman on the car hood elicits a positive response from men and women.

Obviously for men who are not dead the message is,
This beautiful woman comes with the car.
For women it is,
I could rock this dress and rule the world.

In this time of oversharing like the Kardashians, every detail of life is packaged and marketed on the internet. We ask what is our brand? What do we want to be known for? Do we rip off all the layers of protection or do we keep a little in the tank to maintain our sanity and sense of worth? If you give it all what do you have left to give to the special people in your life?

We attract the customers we market to. We have to accept the responsibility and the power of the message we send. Whether it is how we dress, what we say, or how we act. True, we sometimes attract unwanted attention that was not our intention or our doing. All the more reason, "To our own selves be true."

How to deal with the Christian Right.

This is what happens when you leave the details of your spirituality to Hollywood. For a Christian there is an understanding of the "Old Covenant" and the "New Covenant". Some Laws in the "Old Covenant" are there to set apart Israel as a special and unique nation. Some of the laws are for dress, diet, morality and some eternal types are the seed the promise of the covenant between God and man. In the "New Covenant" some of these laws are carried forward and reaffirmed in scripture of the New Testament. Jesus sets out this "New Covenant" through His sacrifice and establish the promises of the "Old Covenant" in a loving new relationship of Son and Daughters with our Father God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Luke 22:2020 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Hebrews 8 NIV1 Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being. 3 Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4 If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” 6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. 7 For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8 But God found fault with the people and said : “The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. 9 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. 10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 11 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” 13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

This sketch paints as if only Lev 20:13 and the near by Lev 18:22 address homosexuality. Scriptures address homosexuality in both the New and Old Testaments, it is covered by The "Old Covenant" and the "New Covenant" promises. You are welcome to read some of the additional scriptures regarding this polarizing topic. (see topic"Homosexuality" on side bar)
